The Society for the Study of Amphibians and Reptiles is a proud participant in BioOne’s Subscribe to Open pilot, which aims to sustainably maximize access to critical research. Alongside more than 50 other members of the BioOne publishing community, we have committed to this path which we believe will benefit the wider biosciences community. Subscribe to Open (S2O) is a business model that provides a practical path to opening a journal’s new content while safeguarding subscription revenue which is critical for the sustainability of SSAR. As the name suggests, S2O is an extension of the subscription model that makes open access (OA) for the current term year content contingent on the continued, upfront support of subscribers. If subscribers continue to support the offer, then the current-year’s content will be opened. If not, the content remains gated. The offer recurs annually to ensure stable subscriber support.

Please contact Sales@BioOne.org for more information on the BioOne Subscribe to Open pilot and how your institution can participate.
